Bruce Foods began delivering hot sauce on horse and buggy starting in 1928, but expansion really began when BFC started canning Southern Vegetables. Starting in the 1950’s, Bruce Foods began producing Canned Sweet Potatoes under the Bruce’s Yams brand. Bruce’s Yams quickly rose to become the number one selling brand of canned sweet potatoes in the country! With manufacturing facilities in Lozes, LA and Wilson, NC, Bruce Foods installed state-of- the-art methane recapturing systems that allowed the plants to be run on renewable energy.
